Just think you weigh in a 5 fish limit that weighs 25.67 if you’re like me you think “I got this in the bag” but you’d be wrong! It took 25.91 to win the NBAA Sunday Challenge on 7/18/10.

This monster sack of fish was weighed in by Gerry Gostenik and Ed Deitrich and lift 2nd place Tom Sokolowski & John Tromley wondering what just happened. 3rd place Todd Kohler said any other day 24-1/2 pounds would be more than enough to take home the gold but to see two teams weigh in more than 25 pounds was a killer.
Each year at least one tournament seems to have a bag over 25 pounds show up but that’s usually late in the season and to have this type of weights show up now is truly amazing. The day started out with clear skies and little or no wind so anglers could run hard and fast to just about any location they wanted. As the day progressed the wind picked up and the clouds moved in, but all in all it wasn’t a bad day.
I myself found fish but my issue wasn’t finding them or hooking them it was keeping them on the line, my partner and I lost as many fish as we put in the boat including several large ones leaving us very low on the totem pole and feeling very humbled.
